the last days of summer

All of these were taken prior to baby A's birth, before my free time was spent sniffing the top of her head, or changing her diaper, or dreaming about sleep, day dreaming that is. It has been Fall here for the last two weeks or so, freezing every night now, and the garden looks absolutely terrible except for the bright patches of Chard and Brussels Sprouts. It's all about seed collecting and clean up now. Finding suitable spots for storing the harvest, processing the tomatoes, and I have to say I'm almost looking forward to it, warming things up- baking, drinking hot beverages, wearing scarves and boots again, getting ready to hibernate with my two snugly girls.

the squash harvest is in...

Born on September 9, weighing in at 9lbs 11 ounces.

Well, she's here- after what seemed an eternity to wait, she rocketed into the world after only six hours total labour, 12 minutes of pushing. Crazy. Really Crazy. But all is well- and we are home, and she is nestling amongst the squash, as if she owns the place, and really, with a face that cute do you blame her?
